Permission to write to folder

I tried to update the creation, at the end of downloading it quits and a message comes up. Lacking permission to write to folder of download. Operation canceled. When I finally got it to download everything was messed up. Example ( I was trying to communicate with Babes and one of my statements was I see you.) so I went to update again so I could start a new game and I’m back to the message again.

That's not specific to Watchtower though, admittedly, the only other time I saw it was trying to update McClarence Outfitters. I think they're the only two Creations I have that have released updates. I think I either closed/relaunched Steam or flat-out rebooted and was able to pull the update.

This is a known Creation store bug, and the solution is as follows:

1. Quit Starfield entirely (either to desktop for PC, or dashboard for xbox).
2. Re-enter the store.
3. Hit the download button for the affected Creation.

It should now work.
