Extracting Mods

Sorry if I am missing something, I just did the 3 materials quest and asked about Extracting Mods. He mentions to place the Helmet and have read that it goes on the stand next to the mannequin. The problem that I am having is that after I place it there nothing happens. Is this another wait 24 hours? I have tried talking to him again after placing the helmet and have even placed a spacesuit. Both are unchanged from how I found them (just in case if I modded the 1st slot or anything)
 
Solution
Update: we have added a failsafe that we believe may solve this issue for everyone, under all circumstances you have mentioned, which will be added into the next patch. Fingers crossed this works for you guys, and when the patch does release, please do let us know if this fixes the issue!
Hi there - for mod extraction, you do not need to use the stands at all. These are reserved for installation of mods and duplicating items (features that are unlocked as you advance through the questline, by giving Jason more rare/epic/legendary items to extract mods from).

To use the extraction service, select that dialogue option when you talk to Jason. He should then open up his inventory menu and allow you to navigate to your own inventory, where you can hand him legendary items. Once you hand these in, he will ask which mod you would like to extract, and then ask you to confirm your selection.
 
ok, not sure what is going on...I go to the Extract Mod dialogue and he does not open up his inventory menu. That only opens up if I use the "Let's see your stock." option and I don't think I have any mod that would conflict with this one.
 
he goes through his dialogue about handing him the helmet over there or if I have one that I would like to extract from hand it to him...then just back to the part where you can chose from the list of the 3 choices again (see what he has to sale, Extract mod, and tell me about you. never opens up his shop unless I as to see what he has to sale.

So his extraction tutorial dialogue (about the helmet) repeats every single time you talk to him? Just want to make sure I understand correctly.

Are you running a large mod list? Would you mind please attaching your mod list to this thread (if you're on PC, your mod manager should have a txt.file you can attach here, or Xbox if you could please take some screenshots of the list).

If you're on PC, I'd really appreciate if you could enable papyrus logging so we can see if it throws up any errors. Once logging is enabled, you would then go back in-game, reproduce this issue, then attach the papyrus.0.log here.

Thank you! And just to confirm, you do have a legendary item in your own inventory, right? The helmet on his workbench that he points you to for example - this is in your inventory, and not placed on the stand?
 
I did have just 4 rares helmets at the time in my inventory. Not counting the free Gravis suit and several Leg weapons. But give me a sec and I will run and grab a couple Leg suit/helm and try that.
 
Not really...know it was a mod conflict. From what I have seen (by starting over several times) is that if the Helmet doesn't spawn on the table then you will have the bug. I currently have this mod towards the top of my list and all other equipment mods after (mainly all the Starfield Extended - Craftable...) and it works.
