Adding/Managing/Modifying Ships in Fleet

Hello!

Can someone please provide explicit step-by-step instructions on how to add a ship to the fleet while interacting with Gren? I've already added three ships and assigned crews. However, it's unclear how to precisely know which ships are currently in my fleet as opposed to ones I own. Another question: How do I manage (change/remove) fleet ships?

It's also confusing when attempting to assign crew members to a new ship, because you have to discern which crew members are already assigned to other ships.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

It gets even worse when you have generic crew like "Propulsion Specialist" and you have multiple of them. There's no indicator as to which "Propulsion Specialist" is being selected unlike the named characters. ☹️

After completing 'The Stars Have Eyes', talking to Gren will open up the option to expand the size of your fleet one core at a time. The natural cap is nine, allowing for ten ships in total - nine fleet ships and one home ship. When you have chosen to expand your fleet, return to the Fleet Command Terminal (either Gren's, or one you crafted yourself) and observe your list of ships. When you have maximised your fleet ship size, you will see that there is no option to assign crew - however once you have opened up another slot, you should now see this option appear.

Regarding displaying more information, like specifics on fleet ship status and crew status - this is something we really want to improve, and we have it on our wishlist for QoL improvements in the future. Thank you for the feedback.

Hello TwoLargePepperoni!

Thank you for the informative response. I can tell you're working hard to mitigate these issues.

My specific question concerns the use of the Fleet Command Terminal. When accessing the terminal, the "Available Fleet" screen reflects I have 6 Available ships, 11 Available Crew, and 3/8 Fleet Ships, followed by a listing of my 6 ships. How do I actually assign ships to my fleet? I incorrectly assumed a ship was assigned when crew members were assigned, but this is not the case. I attempted to adjust crew assignments as Gren increased my fleet size. So now I have a ship in my fleet with no crew, and conversely, a ship with 4 crew members that isn't in my fleet. So, basically, once crews are assigned, there's no way to move the crew members to other ships that I wish to add to the fleet. I'm so confused. Which is why I asked in my previous post, Is there a detailed step-by-step guide to navigate the fleet and crew assignment process? If there is a guide, where do I find it?

Thanks!

You assign fleet ships exactly as I mentioned above - by expanding fleet size via Gren, and then adding at least one crew member to a ship of your choosing. So if this is not the case for you, this sounds like a bug or mod conflict and we would appreciate being able to take a look at a save file if you are on PC.

You can unassign crew from a ship the same way you assigned them - select the ship you no longer want to use, then unassign crew, and simply remove all crew members if you so wish. This will then allow you to instead crew another ship. If the unassign crew button is missing for you then this sounds like a bug or mod conflict.

The last NPC recruited will be the last NPC in the list. Torin is the key, since he is the last named person in the list. The next NPC recruited will become the last NPC in the list, (or the first after Torin.) By keeping track of the order of recruitment and their placement in the list and where they are assigned, you can easily move them from ship to ship.
