Watchtower ship components dissappearing from options

I'll skip to the punchline first and say: some of the Watchtower ship components available for sale from Gren after salvage have dissappeared. Unfortunately, too many changes have occured to pinpoint a single cause.

Long story now.

Last night I updated Watchtower from whatever patch had been installed on Friday (if no patches have been launched since then, this is a seperate issue maybe related to the known Creation Club Update issues). It had a little trouble installing, requiring me to exit and restart Starfield before it could load permissions to the folder. I then jumped into a system (Masada?), battled an Ecliptic epic ship, then was swarmed after the battle by a Watchtower fleet. I beelined to the watchtower cruiser ii, disabled it, and boarded it. After clearing out all of the hostiles (I can second an already catalogued bug with hostiles in unaccessible ship modules requiring ~TCL to access), I marked it for salvage.

Great! I zoomed back to Gren to bask in his *emphatic congratulations* and *surprise* in capturing a capital ship all by my lonesome (jk). He instead simply notified me that some Watchtower ship parts are now available, so I checked them out in shipbuilder.

Here's where it went wrong. While I indeed had some new parts (like a 3x3 cargo module), some Watchtower parts I previously had (like the Watchtower variant of the Cabot bridge I got from a battleship iii salvage) are now missing from the ship builder menu.

Now, did the bridge/cockpit dissappear because I captured the cruiser ii? Or, the "patch update?" Was it gone before any of those events? Or, something I haven't even considered? Unfortunately, I am running low on save space, so I had deleted a bunch of recent saves just before this bug was noticed, so I can't reload a recent save and check for the bridge/cockpit prior to the battle or patch.

EDIT-- I always forget to mention this: I'm on PC.

Hi there, I will take a look into this. So to clarify, the missing parts are from battleships and cruisers? And they got removed/replaced when you salvaged another ship? If your save isn't too modded (and we are therefore able to open it), we can take a peek at it as well.

Another point to mention, just in case - when you have multiple of one type of hab (for example, say you have three 2x2s of different variaties), you need to scroll through them to see them all. You do this by using the D-pad if you're using a controller, or the arrow keys if you are using a keyboard.

To clarify, the item I KNOW is now missing (I can't keep track of habitat modules) was the Watchtower variant of the Cabot Cockpit/bridge. I acquired the part from a battleship several days ago. Last night, after capturing the Cruiser II, I noticed the bridge is now absent from the cockpit menu.

Also, I am aware of the [D-pad navigated] subtypes and subvariants of certain modules (eg, a Diemos 1x2 all-in-one berth, an armory, clinic, and research stations). There was only this one type of bridge/cockpit (no D-pad navigable subvariants) on the menu. It is now absent from Gren's offerings after salvaging the cruiser ii.

In otherwords, I don't know if the new Cruiser ii habitats REPLACED the now lost module(s), or ERASED the now lost module and introduced new ones (suibtle differences in coding), or the now lost module was erased by a bad Creation Club update before I even set foot on the Cruiser ii.

I will update this later. Thank you for looking into this!
 
Thank you - I recognise the hab name, and believe another person reported this a while back but we didn't really have enough information to establish what is happening. So I do think something funky is going on and we will look into this. It was that specific hab as well - has this happened to any others do you know?

It DOES appear I lost more than just the Cabot C4 bridge; there were a lot more that I didn't realize I had, including that 3x3 cargo hall I already had before the cruiser.
If found two good files to share:

Level 98 exit save

Level 100 Exit Save

The level 98 exit save I think was shortly before a hitting up a listening post and minor array. Then, I went fleet hunting and nabbed the cruiser.
Level 100 is a save 2 hours later, shortly after seeing I lost some of the Watchtower modules.

NOTE: While now I can't find it in the options, I thought I saw the [C] suffix attached to the saves after the lvl 98 exit save. This likely corresponds with when I tried running a creation club update for Watchtower. This may or may not be a flag that something else under the hood was being affected, or maybe the achievement activator was acting up.
