Port in a Storm - unkillable mech

I got to the planet, did the scan, defeated the drones, landed and launched the skydrop but the watchtower ai mech is literally unkillable. It takes no damage and my quest log is blank with no next step. What do I do?

After the Mech came out of the crater Torin should have said he has an idea and told you to back away from the Mech. Won't say more for spoiler purposes.

unfortunately he didn't say anything, I'll try reloading an earlier save and see if that fixes it.

Yes, Reloading to an earlier save worked and everything played out as it was supposed to.

And yes, version is 1.0.2v4
