Old Gamer needs help

In the simplest terms possible, for an old gamer... to find the listening posts I just need to land on the planets/moons where there is an array in hopes that I find a listening post... deal with the listening post, get the minor array locations, take out the minor array. Correct?

I think the mistake I make is I scan the planet... find an old lab or mining location occupied by spacers, but no listening post. In one case, I did come upon Watchtower troops on the surface, but no listening post.

So for the old gamer... land on a planet in a monitored systems and find the listening post.

Thanks!

To clarify - the 'easy' way to find listening posts would be through Harper. Either ask her to find you one without using intel (you can then select the 'difficulty' of the system), or you can bring her intel and she will find a post at random.

Alternatively, you can find listening posts as random POIs as you explore various planets and areas, even without asking for help.

Thank you Geldric and Bobwalt for the help :)

YES
From my experience with the RNG of POI's (wow, throwing out a lot acronyms there), I would usually find a Listening Post by the third landing spot. If I landed 4 times on a planet/moon without finding one, I would try a different planet/moon in the system.

Good luck

When you provide Harper with intel she will give you the coordinates of the listening posts with associated arrays. They will show as activities in your quest log. When you go there they will appear on the planetary map as Watchtower listening posts. The more intel you give Harper the more Stardock will develop amenities. After you have exhausted all the arrays and Harper can no longer find them, you can still find orphaned listening posts as random points of interest.

From one old guy to another — I turn 76 in September.

One thing I've found as well when landing on planets looking for listening posts is that they're not always listed as Watchtower Listening Posts on your ground map. Quite a few will be labeled as "Unknown". They will have the same icon as the labeled listening posts. Sometimes, I will find two listening posts within a short distance of each other. One will be labeled on the ground map as a Watchtower Listening Post, and the other as Unknown.
