My mech is riding my ship

Hi Kinggath team,

I’ve recently discovered AI mech drops which are awesome. However if the mech is still operational after I leave a battle the mech is now riding on top of my ship’s cockpit.

Although this is hilarious, is it intentional?

It took me ages to work out what the strange noise coming from the cockpit was only to zoom out to find my mech astride my ship like a robotic Dragonborn…

I had the same problem, I changed ships, and that went away, but now my mech is stomping around New Atlantis like mechazilla.. I would love to send a screen shot, but also, I am stuck in the quest, keep falling through the space station after many, many reloads of the game, the creation, changing load order etc..
 
Addendum: Planetside, before exiting the ship, the Mech often clips into the ship and is shuffling around. The ship shakes, you can't get past his legs and the game will even start to lag. Good news: you can shoot the legs, over and over, and eventually kill the mech... then recover the parts from him. Shaking/lag stopped. Waiting to see if when I restart tonight, he is now inert, or if he'll respawn.

EDIT: Nope, the Mech is staying dead, for now, and unfortunately is folded up/clipped inside my ship (he fell down through the ceiling). I can ass tthrough him, though, so I have access to the whole ship, from the cockpit, again.

Went to a space port, duplicated a cargo hold, deleted old one, installed dupe. This resets your ship, closing doors, etc. It also removed the dead mech that had settled/clipped into the ship. All gone, hasnt reappeared.

I stopped playing my main save due to the Mech feet blocking my way and who knows how much long BGS is going to take to approve this upcoming patch 🤦‍♂️

Oh and "doggo" doesn't block my path or at least when he does, he moves out of the way like any good NPC :D

Update: Ugh... I tried it both at my Outpost and in New Atlantis... the Mech still comes back :(

Yup, I've got a huge puppy dog that follows me everywhere. He doesn't show up immediately upon exiting the ship, but appears as I explore. He dropped dead once for no apparent reason but then reappeared on my next fast travel. Wouldn't mind so much if the ground shake was less. Makes sniping hard. 😂

Yeah I think we're gonna have a go-fund-me page to allow us to "pet" the doggo :geek:

"Aimee" (AI Mech) is just a butthead, every time I enter my ship she freakin trashes the place and when her feet slide into the hab, well it's a party now, isn't it?

Maybe I'll jump back into that save and try a few more things.
 
Even after the updates my SHIVA bot is still on my ship. It usually hangs out in my captain’s cabin but I occasionally find it in other places. Unfortunately, it doesn’t accompany me on away missions. Heck, it wouldn’t be so bd if it, at least, cleaned up the mess created by Watchtower when they first captured me.
 
I found that if I leave behind the ship that has the ai nech skydrop (fleet command terminal setting, "hold position") then "Mr Stompy" doesn't follow me around. I'll have see if he reappears if I resume the other ship following me. Will let you know. I do actually kind of like the ability to have him hang around, just need a way to dismiss him at some point 😁
 
Hmmm, I'm of the "more is better" mindset, so... if I have 5 fleet ships, each one has an "AiMee" (AI Mech). I tend to only return to Stardock Alpha after I've cleared 6 to 8 arrays.

Different stokes... etc.. :)
