Major Array / Listening Posts Marked As Destroyed

Hello Kinggath,

All my major arrays and listening posts have been marked as destroyed when I only have killed one major array.

The only thing I did differently between my saves having the quest active and falsely completed is 1) updated my mods/creations, and 2) installed a new creation which alters POI repopulation called POI Rotation.

I updated Watchtower today, I had to delete it and download it to get it to update. My older save files populate the quest correctly but my current save file doesn't, which is a bit further ahead in the main story line than my previous saves.

I can't use watchtower intel or computer cores anymore. I haven't unlocked all sky drops or amps yet, I do have full fleet of 8 ships. I use close to 150 mods but prior to updating today and installing the one new mod I haven't experienced any issues until now. Is there a way to reset the quest? Kinda bummed I'd quested out of Watchtower on a save I've spent a good chunk of time on. Let me know if you can help! Thank you!

Are you on PC? If so, can you please share a save file with us? We have had a handful of reports regarding this issue but have not yet been able to reproduce it.

Additionally, do you have more information for us? For example did you find the arrays randomly, hand in intel, or ask Harper to find one in a particular system tier difficulty?

I can upload my two saves and load order. I dont know how much youll be able to do with them as they are heavily modded.

- I completed Sam Coe's quest and Walter's quests.
- I completed "Escape" creation
- Updated Watchtower
- Installed "POI rotation" creation

Unfortunately if they are heavily modded we won't be able to use them.

How did you approach the arrays - did you hand in intel, did you ask Harper to find one and select a specific difficulty, or did you stumble across them at random when exploring?

I had a save file which wasnt too far back from my current save, so I'm just playing from that one and deleted my newer saves. I think it had something to do with doing the main quest, so I'm going to be saving consistently and if I notice the precise trigger for when it switches it off I will let you know!

So I’ve tested my older save file extensively and the cause of the quest log is when I kill the Major Array Omega. I found this array through randomly dealing with the corresponding listening post. I can continue to kill all the other arrays without losing the entire Major Array quest log or Harper’s leads.

I’m not sure if this was intended or accidental like I wasn’t supposed to find it yet. I’ve done multiple listening posts / arrays as well as different quests and killing the Major Array Omega seems to be the only thing that wipes Watchtower off the map immediately. I didn’t assume too much of it because the space battle wasn’t anything crazy maybe 15-20 ships but I’ve encountered that in other systems.

Killing the Major Array Omega is a separate entry in my activities from killing the other arrays.

In your "Activities" section, did you notice any objectives prior to Omega about locating Alpha, Kappa, Omicron, or Upsilon first. Those are the five major arrays and I believe they're supposed to show up in that order. On my first play through, I made the mistake of zipping through those five objectives not realizing they are the major hubs. Once you destroy Omega, that seems to wipe out all the remaining arrays and Harper will no longer take any intel from you. You will still find Watchtower listening posts on the planets, but the orbiting arrays are gone.

It’s certainly possible I did that, but I don’t remember. I come back to Watchtower every once in a while to keep things fresh mainly because I’m a completionist and want to do all smaller arrays before the major hubs. I don’t know if I missed dialogue explaining this or I just wasn’t paying enough attention. It seems like it’s fairly easy to accidentally advance in the quest too quickly and miss out on progress if I didn’t miss something along the way. I just avoid attacking hub Omega for the time being until I’ve cleared out all the others.

The way this mod presents the quests can be confusing. When you look at your "Mission" section and open up "Watchtower Major Arrays", you'll see a long list of star systems, sometimes up to 30 of them. What that list of systems really is , is all the systems that contain the listening posts and minor arrays for whatever major hub array is showing up under your "Activities" objective "Locate Watchtower Array Hub Alpha or whatever". Alpha will be replaced by Kappa, then Omicron, Upsilon and finally Omega, in that order. The system that actually contains the major hub will also be in that list of minor arrays. I just finished destroying all minor arrays for Omicron and then Omicron itself. I'm now starting on major array hub Upsilon. In the Mission "Watchtower Major Arrays", it shows thirty systems. In order to see what system your current "major" hub array is located in, go in to your galaxy map and back out until you see all the planets. Then look at the line of choices at the bottom right. You should see Watchtower (Major) F1. Press your F1 key and you'll find a system with red lines radiating out to all the other systems listed in your current "Watchtower Major Arrays" mission. The system where all the red lines are coming from, is where your major hub is located. If you destroy that hub, all the minor arrays in that hub get eliminated as well. On my list of thirty minor arrays, Upsilon was number 21. So if you want to do all the minor arrays first, be aware of which system contains the major array hub and leave it for last. When I was doing the Omicron hub, the major hub array Omicron itself, was just labeled as a regular Watchtower array. That might have been a glitch. Also to use the F1 function to show the major array hub and all of it's connecting minor arrays, you can not be in the pilots seat when you open the map.
