Gaining Affinity?

Does Torin gain passive affinity like the other main companions (the Constellation 4) through spending time with you, or is it dialogue locked? He hasn’t stopped me to talk about anything after completing Lost in Transmission and exploring for at least two real world hours, taking out listening posts together. I’ve had several dialogue based [Torin liked that] and [Torin loved that] previously in his quests.
Is the affinity leading to a potential romance (I hope so; given his -let’s just say complicated, to avoid any potential spoilers- background he definitely deserves someone) or it is being tracked for some other purpose, perhaps a loyalty/affinity test sort of thing where a certain amount gets one option, below gets another?

I don't want to post spoilers as you haven't finished the questline yet, but in short - yes, this is being tracked for something else, relating to our final quest. You are on the right track!

Huh. That subverts both my expectations and my read of Torin, but he is nonetheless a deeply compelling character who is at least at interesting, if not more so (ok, definitely more so), than the main 4, even if he doesn’t become romantically available. Excellent work, looking forward to seeing how it ends! Thanks for your swift reply.
