Do Cyberamps Show on Crew’s Face

Does the cyberamp show on the crew member’s face when equipped? And how do I force a crew member to equip it?

They do, yes, but I think you can only do so with "Elite" crew[1]. Generic crew, like "Propulsion Specialist" don't seem to give you the trade dialogue. For the ones who do, trade with them, place it in their inventory, switch to their inventory, go to the amp, and hit the Equip button (Y by default on controller; I don't know the keyboard controls).


[1] Pretty much anyone who can be a Companion: the Constellation gang and any other Named potential crew, like the Adoring Fan, Marika Boros from the Viewport, and Omari Hassan from the Hitching Post.

Hey, don't feel bad; nobody knows everything. I created another thread on here about salvaging where I missed trying something obvious because I thought I had tried it and mis-understood something about claiming boarded ships.
