Cannot Salvage ships

If you're on PC, problems seem to happen if you switch away from the game while it's downloading. For some silly reason the game pauses if it's not active; this shouldn't affect downloads but a bug causes this error to pop up. So when you retry, make sure you keep the game on top the whole time.
 
So it is working sort of. There is no salvage button. But if I sit in the pilot seat. Then get up there is salvage but the ships door is locked shut. It says not accessible so I have to go back to the pilots seat sit down and use the exit ship button to get out.

So I take it this is when capturing ships that have landed? Is this problem occurring with Watchtower and vanilla ships, or just one type? If you capture a ship and find that the landing bay door is shut, there is a console command that you can use to open it up. Press your tilde button ~ , click on the door until your come across "Acti" or some thing close to that. Then type in setopenstate 1 and press enter. The door will now open.

For non-Watchtower ships, this is how you salvage them. Not requiring the sit to claim is only for Watchtower ships. This is by design for technical reasons.

Not sure why the ship would be inaccessible - what ship is it?
 
And you're certain you're on 1.0.2v4? Very odd. Please can you share your mod list in case this is a conflict of some kind. If you are on PC and your save isn't too modded for us to open, we can take a look.

Are the Watchtower ships even meant to be captured when they land? Every Watchtower ship that I've seen lands a good distance off and they lift off as soon as they drop their troops. Unless you're using a cheat mod that slows time considerably like this; Slow Time SFSE, https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/2952 , there is no way to get to the ship in time. I've also ran into the issue where sometimes the landing bay door will show "inaccessible" on the Watchtower ships. I then just use the "Unlock" console command. And the same as scubainstructor, the ships were all empty of crew members. However, I have seen vanilla ships with no crew members and ones with doors marked "inaccessible". Also, just like scubainstructor, on all of the Watchtower ships that I captured on the ground, when I go to leave, the landing bay door is shut. There have been times in the past where this has happened with vanilla ships.
