Cannot Salvage ships

Hello. I cannot salvage ships anymore. It is even missing from the setting. Any ideas.

Hello it is after a unity jump and fresh start.

It said failed lookup at first but now it is just gone from the setting page. Also it is right after Gren unlocked salvage.

Ah, then it sounds like you hit the creation store bug. This can result in versions being mismatched - there is more information here.

If you're on PC, problems seem to happen if you switch away from the game while it's downloading. For some silly reason the game pauses if it's not active; this shouldn't affect downloads but a bug causes this error to pop up. So when you retry, make sure you keep the game on top the whole time.

Hello I am on PC but for the life of me I cannot get the salvage to come back. It does not come up when looking at the pilot seat or get it back in the settings.

Now that you've re-installed the game to the current version, have you tried going back to a save before Gren gave you the talk about unlocking salvage and going from there?

So it is working sort of. There is no salvage button. But if I sit in the pilot seat. Then get up there is salvage but the ships door is locked shut. It says not accessible so I have to go back to the pilots seat sit down and use the exit ship button to get out.

So I take it this is when capturing ships that have landed? Is this problem occurring with Watchtower and vanilla ships, or just one type? If you capture a ship and find that the landing bay door is shut, there is a console command that you can use to open it up. Press your tilde button ~ , click on the door until your come across "Acti" or some thing close to that. Then type in setopenstate 1 and press enter. The door will now open.

For non-Watchtower ships, this is how you salvage them. Not requiring the sit to claim is only for Watchtower ships. This is by design for technical reasons.

Not sure why the ship would be inaccessible - what ship is it?

All ship say inaccessible unless I get the re very fast. And if I get caught up on a railing or bump into an NPC it will say inaccessible at the door..

Also when I do get in a watchtower ship there is no one in it.

And you're certain you're on 1.0.2v4? Very odd. Please can you share your mod list in case this is a conflict of some kind. If you are on PC and your save isn't too modded for us to open, we can take a look.
