There have been numerous reports of a bug where crew members assigned to a fleet suddenly disappear, but the exact circumstances surrounding its occurrence are lacking.
For example, in my case, I observed that crew members assigned to a fleet were suddenly dismissed and returned to the Recruitment Center.
At the time of Watchtower's release, dismissed crew members could not be found in the Recruitment Center, but a patch has made it possible. However, the problem is that the crew members appear to be dismissed automatically, and more importantly, they don't respond or attempt to communicate with me.
The experience I had before this bug occurred was early in a mission. I was assigned to the first ship in Stardock, formed a fleet, attacked the Watchtower interception base, and then returned to Stardock.
When Torin told me he had nothing else to do for the time being except search the Array, I removed him from my crew. At that time, Torin was the first ship assigned to Stardock. I assigned him as the pilot of the Watchdog.
When I removed Torin from my crew role, all crew members assigned to Watchdog were removed, and they returned to their respective recruiting locations as described above.

During the process of identifying this bug, I discovered another bug. When attempting to recharge Skydrop, Gren would say that it was already loaded and there was no need to recharge.
Eventually, even after Torin and his crew were removed from the pilot role in Watchdog,
Skydrop continued to function normally in Watchdog, consuming ammunition as expected and successfully providing support from orbit to the ground.
However, Watchdog was not with me at the time because it lacked a pilot.
So, I reassigned the pilot to Watchdog and asked Gren to recharge. The recharge was successful.

In my opinion, even if Skydrop works properly when the fleet isn't following, it doesn't negatively impact the gameplay experience. However,
the biggest problem is that crew members are inadvertently disbanded from the fleet, making them impossible to find, or even if found, unable to interact with, making re-employment impossible.
