Right. So after recruiting them and conversation ends, I stop by my apartment or go to my ship and use the fleet computer to assign them elsewhere.- SonicPhil

You assign fleet crew on the fleet computer. There's the original one by Gren, or you can build one in a home or ship. I always put one on my home ship and in the apartment at Spacedock.- SonicPhil
