I noticed some people on Reddit felt that McClarence was a little too grindy for their tastes, and with Watchtower getting a setting to adjust the difficulty/frequency of its ambushes, it occurred to me that McClarence might benefit from a similar setting to adjust how many mods you need to give to Jason to trigger the next quest stage.

I hear ya! It's just madness that I'm handing in hundreds of items to have the mods taken off, when I would only need max 12 mods to fully buff up my armor and weapon.
Maybe another 12 to buff Torins gear, because he's my BFF (where the second F is literal).
But I would never need to turn I that many armor pieces, except to grind through quest quotas.
Of course we do it anyway, because we love Jason

Whole heartedly agree!! After looking at the complete list here, I think all those numbers should be cut in half. With cheat terminal I can grant myself a 1000 Astras but I still need to endure 275 "What about this next one?" questions. Way too grindy.
Also, cheat terminal allows for the adding of legendary attachments but it's not as much fun. So, less grindy = more fun.
I recommend adding Jason dialog after completing each quest to let the player know about the next upgrade and to encourage more turn-ins.
