Shield & Cadence?

Hello all does anyone have any suggestions for a build based on the cadence staff and a shield?

I am using vokriinator black as my perk mod, along with imperious/ordinator, and Wintersun.

Normally I would be using thunderchild but there seems to be a conflict.
