Last Watch - can’t sit in chair (in combat)

Am at the end of the “Last Watch” mission and need to sit in a chair to progress, however, it says I cannot while in combat. Not sure what to do.

Hi there - there is a fix for this coming in our first patch. Until then - @Antinash has listed a workaround below that may assist console players until the patch is released.

Hi there - there is a fix for this coming in our first patch. Until then - do you see any straggling watchtower npcs in the area? This occurs due to there still being enemies that flag you as in combat. This message should eventually resolve by itself but if you see any enemies, killing them will fix it as well.

Unfortunately everyone is dead and I can’t backtrack since the door to engineering is shut.

How long until the patch, because it looks like I’m stuck.

Have you waited in the area for a couple of minutes, just in case combat times out? Additionally, which platform are you playing on?

We are submitting a patch this week. Once submitted, it is out of our hands as it must go through Bethesda's approval process.

I waited about 15 minutes. On XBox

If you go into sneak, make a save, quit the game entirely (to xbox dashboard, not just to the main menu) and reload that save, does it allow you to use the drop pod then? Very inconvenient I know, but just trying to think of ideas beforre the patch can resolve this for you. Starfield can occasionally get into weird saves where loading from desktop (or the xbox equivalent dashboard) resets it.

I play on XboxX and have the same problem, I can neither escape through the Amillary or take off with the escape pod.

Same issue. After much trial and error I figured out the issue: its the ships outside the station. Get back into your ships, undock, clear the enemy ships and redock with the station. You won't be in combat anymore.

Thank you @Antinash for suggesting this workaround for console players until our patch is released and a proper fix is in place. I have amended my comment to address this for players who may be searching this issue.

I too am stuck with "Being in Combat". There "appears" to be nothing alive or working within that whole area, I have used every Starborn power to shake things up and look for any stragglers, none found. I have waited as long as an hour before the game just shuts off. I have looted everything possible, shot everything several times even after taking it out, dragged bodies to let them fly in the rings. I have looked for gaps in the wall corners, there are, just can't get through them. Also first Watchtower ship I took over, one room I could not get to, I could see it through a wall, ended up using Gravity Well to take them out before I could take the ship. I love this creation!!! I put all settings to defaults, no change in behavior. I saw one comment about ships still fighting outside, got beyond that point because so much going on, I was deleting saves to continue forward. Again I saw nothing alive in the whole area and have searched extensively for any other way out or door I missed. Nothing. I can't escape the station. Maybe code it so it regardless of combat message you just drop out, happens in the movies and real life --- watches through the window at folks banging the door to make it stop, whilst I wave through the window, disappearing into the void. Anyway I love Watchtower, has been entertaining and well done. Thank you for listening. Going to wait until I can drop free of a no combat in combat zone = XBOX X
