UI Problems
Watchtower introduces several new UI elements, though due to restrictions with what we can do UI-wise from the base game, there are several flaws in the current setup that can cause these elements to be unreliable. The most notable is that our new HUD elements do not show up when you are piloting a ship.
We are working with Bethesda to come up with cleaner solutions to our UI needs in a future update.
Docking Problems
If you modify one of your non-homeships at Stardock, occasionally the game will force that ship to take the docking port your homeship did previously. This is an engine issue, and not something we can directly resolve, though we are reporting it to Bethesda. We do have a workaround for you though.
If this occurs, and you find yourself unable to return to your homeship, you'll need to temporarily change your homeship to something else, and then back to what it was before.
Note that if you temporarily changed one of your fleet ships to your homeship as part of this workaroud, you would need to reassign the pilot to that fleet ship after you change it back.
Harper's Leads Not Showing Objectives
If you pursued one of Harper's leads to find a listening post, fought your way inside, activated the terminal to get the array coordinates and then failed to receive an objective to the array in orbit, try the following:
Return to your ship, re-enter the system's orbit, and look for the array marker on the galaxy map. It will generally be orbiting the same planet you found the listening post in, but if not, it will be somewhere around one of the other planets or moons and will have a Starstation icon.
Destroyed Fleet Ships
While your fleet ships are flagged as essential, there appears to be an engine bug that makes the feature unreliable, so in rare cases you may find one of your fleet ships destroyed. It's so rare, that we have never internally been able to replicate it.
If this occurs, the crew of that ship will be unassigned and returned to wherever their package location takes them. For example, Constellation folks would head back to the Lodge. Named NPCs you recruited would go to the place they started or where they would otherwise be when not assigned to an outpost or ship - for example, Hadrian would go to the base on Mars. Generic unnamed NPCs would be fully dismissed and would inevitably despawn.
This issue will require a fix to the base game from Bethesda.
