It would be great if you could actually issue orders to your fleet. Imagine tell them to disable this ship or that ship so you could board the captured ship(s)
Another thought - Perhaps declaring red alert on your ship and your crew goes to their battle stations, the lighting goes red and perhaps a red light as well, now that would make the battle more creative!
