Experience from Fleet Kills

Do I get experience from the ships my fleet kills? I don't see the experience added message appear when an opposing ship is destroyed by one of the ships in my fleet.

Interesting... I would routinely see the XP message show but when I checked my Pilot skill, it did not register a ship kill*

*That is until I set my fleet ships as suggested by DathLascivi0us in this thread: https://forum.kinggathcreations.com/threads/feature-request-ship-capture-mode.443/ Which is to install weak Laser weapons along with EM weapons so your fleet ships will more than likely disable attacking ships instead of killing them.

IIRC if I did not shoot at an enemy ship I would not see the XP message either so I would guess that I'm not getting any XP for fleet kills. I'm interested to know how the mod is "supposed" to work

In all the other games I’ve played the player gets experience anytime an enemy dies around the player. It would not be right to not get experience for fleet kills.
