"East Empire Company Spoils" Quest not Completing

Hello to the Kinggath team!

One small issue on my end. I got a letter from Sha'kar reminding me to help Orthus in Windhelm in the middle of completing "Rise in the East." Currently, the quest has a completed objective for speaking to Orthus, but nothing else. It also did not complete after I finished Rise in the East so now it's stuck in my quest log.

I just finished Rise in the East as well and still have East Empire Spoils marked that I completed "Read Sha'kar's Request for Help," but no other objective after that.

Hi there - apologies for the delay in responding.

Can I ask what platforms you are both on please, and are you on the most up to date version of EEE?

If you are on PC, could you please attach your plugins.txt file?

I'm on PC myself. I'll check if I have the most updated version and send you my plugins file soon.

EEE is up to date, though I think it may have been a thing where I updated it mid-game, which may have an effect.

Do you mind clarifying the information? That way, I should be able to more easily try and reproduce this.

To make it clear - you didn't do the vanilla objective to talk to Orthus when Korrin asks nearer the start of the questline, until you were prompted again by Sha'khar, nearer the end? And when doing this, it for some reason didn't register that you had done so in the objectives for East Empire Spoils - is this correct?

I was prompted to talk to Orthus by Korrin, it just took me a long time to get around to it. I completed the "speak to Orthus" miscellaneous quest once I started Rise in the East.
However, while I was completing Rise in the East, I received the note from Sha'khar prompting me to talk to Orthus even though I had already done so. The only objective in the "East Empire Company Spoils" is "speak to Orthus," which is marked as completed but no other objective has popped up and its been trapped in my quest log ever since.

I spoke to Orthus after meeting Korin and did the first parts of the quest. I had the destination to go to the island but held off until I received the first letter from Sha'khar. then there was no new objective, but yesterday I received another letter to meet Sha'Khar and the quest finished after I met him, don't want give away spoilers. It could be the courier was glitched, I've had that happen before in vanilla.

I am showing the quest completed now.

Hi there - we've taken a look at this and think we know what might be happening. But to confirm it, would you mind confirming something for us please?

Have you received a letter to talk to Relius Garth? If so - have you spoken to him yet? We think that like in the case of @Daldran , talking to him after receiving the letter should resolve the questline. We have tinkered with some things to prevent confusion and better streamline things in future for players, which will be added to our next patch.

I have not received a letter to talk to Relius Garth. Could be the courier is glitched somehow like Daldran said. I wouldn't be surprised, since I haven't got a letter to talk to Quintis for the second part of the white phial quest even though I've made it to the Throat of the World.

Ah I see - unfortunately I think you're right in that case. All of our couriers use the vanilla system, so if a mod in your load order interferes with that, it would make sense that you're also having trouble with vanilla couriers.

Thank you both for the information provided, we're hopeful that the changes we've made for next patch will help prevent confusion if players tackle quests a similar way.
