Do non-mine territories produce resources?

I noticed a few times that there are gems and lockpicks and other items in the delivery chest, that doesn't seem like they are from a mine and I was wondering the non-mine claimed areas produce items, I was under the impression that they didn't.

All claimed locations can generate resources based on the types of loot found in the dungeon. Enemy type, mineral nodes, and other attributes of a location are dynamically detected by EEE.
