Being the Dragonborn & BCE?

Hello all, I was wondering when you should learn shouts and destroy your first dragon? Before doing Arch Bard Sledreg's quest? I am just checking as i don't want to skip anything if its set up like Sim Settlements where you are led to the main quest by the mod?

Edit: Well it looks like Kinggath did a great job and connected it to the main story just like Sim Settlements 2.

Hi there - BCE loosely ties into the main quest in that there are some line references to it, and that certain shouts are necessary for the player to know in order to play BCE.

- If the player starts the Creation but has not yet told Jarl Balgruuf about the dragon attack, they will eventually be prompted to do so before they can progress further.
- If the player has not yet completed Way of the Voice, they will be prompted to do so.

Otherwise, the main vanilla quest is not technically necessary beyond Way of the Voice - but since the Creation has features that are greatly enhanced by knowing more Shouts, or in the case of Ballads, completing certain quests, it does pay off to interact with more vanilla content.
