I went into the dungeon another 2 times, did the whole route, shouting all the way and then sneaking to see if something heard me, nothing's there except for a few friendly soldiers from my side of the civil war.

This does appear to be an erroneous message box, and I have seen this occur very rarely at other locations. Thank you for posting - I'll add it to my existing report.
