Possible reuse for damaged beacons, well you capture and modify and of course duplicate the beacons put out to track your presence by the upmost evil secret military units. Put them out in numerous solar systems and there you go easy listening with a voice of magic and of course the news. Perhaps you could create and run a radio station!!!
